Hi. I am Pastor Jewel, the Executive Pastor at Rohi Christian Church. It sounds like a fancy title, doesn’t it? You are probably wondering what I do as an Executive Pastor. Well, it’s in the title: to execute. I’m supposed to execute the vision of the one who is over me (Pastor Sheyna). If I am not executing the vision, things don’t get done.
In many ways, we are all executive pastors so to speak when it comes to our own lives. If Jesus is over us as our Lord, then we are supposed to come to Him, hear what He says and then execute it or make it happen. If we are not executing what He says, things don’t change.
What is interesting about not executing the word of God and things not changing is what happens after. You may hear repeatedly the same word from God you’ve heard before because you never executed it the first time. He won’t necessarily give us a new word like His last one was a mistake He needed to fix. Instead, we may simply just hear the same word again or not hear anything until we recall the last word we heard and execute it.
When it came to asking God what to write about this week, I heard the word, “Execution.” I sense this is a word for this entire year. If you’ve read any of the previous corners this month, you may notice this is the same message packaged differently. God wants us to execute the word He’s given us. So for 2023, let’s make some awesome things happen by executing what God says.
46 “So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? 47 I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it.– Luke 6:46-47 NLT
